Uber and Enterprise Nation: Empowering Journeys

Together with Enterprise Nation, Uber launched three exciting initiatives to empower drivers, couriers, restaurants and new food entrepreneurs.

Whether helping a driver to build a new business or a restaurant on its path to recovery, the programmes were designed to give people the support they needed to get to where they want to be.

Read more about the initiatives below.

Business Builder

Empowering drivers and couriers to build new businesses.

100 drivers and couriers received funding and support to help them turn a business idea into a business reality. This journey included nine weekly training sessions and a graduation day, plus start-up grants of between £2,000 and £10,000.

Food Fellowship

Empowering the next generation of food entrepreneurs.

Eight food entrepreneurs took their food start-up to the next level via a six-week, hands-on educational programme. Participants have one year’s access to a shared workbench at Karma Kitchen in north-west London.

Restaurant Hub

Empowering restaurants to rebuild and recover.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on the restaurant industry. This e-learning programme, open to all restaurants on Uber Eats in the UK with fewer than five locations, supports owners and their teams on their journey to recovery.

The programme is open to all restaurants on Uber Eats in the UK that:

  • Require help to recover from the impact of COVID-19
  • Can commit to 12 bite-sized e-learning modules
  • Have five locations or fewer
  • Have ambitions to grow their business
