&lt;p&gt;Whilst we operate within the consulting industry we are not traditional consultants. Our approach is different and involves getting into the nuts and bolts of businesses providing practical advice every step of the way.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Our clients may be striving to achieve the next level of growth in turnover and profitability, working hard without seeing the results, facing staffing issues or planning to build the value of their business for financial security.&lt;/p&gt;

My passion lies in helping business owners find success, achieve their goals and supporting a confident, thriving, healthy and resilient SME business community.
Since 2013, I have been privileged to be able to provide hands on support to more than 80 business owners across a full range of sectors, at different stages of the business life cycle, from pre-start, to start-up, to high growth, to succession and exit.

&lt;p&gt;My passion is helping business owners find success &amp;amp; achieve their goals.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Often the start point is taking a step back from the day to day &amp;lsquo;busyness&amp;rsquo;, to get some headspace &amp;amp; remind ourselves of&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;why&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;we are doing it &amp;ndash; it&amp;rsquo;s easy to lose track of this, caught up in the day to day operations of the business, consumed by the constant demands and challenges that running our own business presents.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That&amp;rsquo;s where it can help to have an independent sounding-board; someone to bounce ideas off, share the challenges with, a new set of eyes &amp;amp; ears to help reset things, lift the lid on the business and spend time actively&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;working on&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;the business, not in it all the time.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;Caught in the&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;owners trap&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;where we sit at the hub of everything &amp;amp; our business is completely reliant on us&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;Learning to&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;let go&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; effectively delegating tasks and responsibilities to others to reduce owner dependency and allow those around us to grow&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;Owners not always seeing eye to eye and&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;misaligned&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;on where the business should be going&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;Not seeing the&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;big picture&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; too inward focussed and reactive, not taking sufficient time to step outside of the business &amp;amp; look back in to change the perspective&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;Getting&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;sidetracked&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;and losing sight of the important things &amp;ndash; what gets measured gets done&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;&lt;strong&gt;Blinded by the numbers&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;and not having sufficient financial control to really understand how the business &amp;amp; different parts of the business are performing&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;Getting the best out of our&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;people&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; evolving as leaders to set a clear direction, align everyone around it &amp;amp; role model what is important&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;hellip;Really understanding&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;why&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;we do what we do, the core purpose of the business, the need we fulfil, why people buy &amp;amp; focussing our efforts on doing more of that&lt;/p&gt;

Following a degree in Law and Japanese, Emma joined international accounting firm Arthur Andersen, where she worked in London, Leeds and Manchester offices and set up the firm's Inward Investment practice that attracted overseas companies to locate in the UK.

In 2000, bitten by the dot.com bug, Emma left the firm to start her first business, Techlocate. After 15 months, the company was successfully sold to Tenon plc.

The experience of starting, growing and selling a business from a home base gave Emma the idea for Enterprise Nation which was launched in 2006 as the home business website.

The company has since expanded to become a small business membership community of over 75,000 people who benefit from events and support: online and in person.

Enterprise Nation also presents a campaigning voice to government and the media on behalf of its members.

The Spill Teem® have an extensive background in service, product, communication and behavioural design and collectively carry 30+ years of human-centred Design experience, business strategy, and cultural change work.
